2. How we use cookies
Svala uses a small set of cookies and local storage entries - only what we need to make the product work. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t sell your data to third parties.
3. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the service to function - for example, keeping you signed in, remembering your session, and protecting against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be turned off.
- Authentication tokens - keep you logged in to your account.
- Session storage - remembers your current canvas state and unsaved input.
- Security cookies - protect your account from abuse.
Functional
Remember preferences so the app feels familiar - for example, your theme, sidebar state, and recently viewed memories.
Analytics
We collect minimal, aggregated usage data to understand which features are useful and where users get stuck. This data is not tied to your identity and is never sold.
Advertising
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Full stop.
4. Third-party cookies
A small number of cookies may be set by service providers we use to run Svala (for example, our authentication and hosting providers). These providers are bound by contract to use the data only to deliver their service to us.
