Terms of Service
Last updated: April 24, 2026. The agreement between you and Svala when you use the service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Svala (“the service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use Svala. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens on your account.
3. Your content
You retain full ownership of every photo, journal entry, note, and piece of content you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Svala a limited license to store, display, and process Your Content solely to provide the service to you - including powering AI features like search and storyboards.
You are responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to upload it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates someone else’s rights.
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
- Use Svala to generate or store content that exploits minors or incites violence.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. AI features
Svala uses AI to help you search, summarize, and storyboard your memories. AI output may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Don’t rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Some features may require a paid subscription. Fees, billing cycles, and refund policies are shown at the point of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.
8. Disclaimers
Svala is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep your memories safe and the service available, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Svala is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the previous 12 months.
10. Changes to the service or terms
We may update the service or these terms over time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Svala operates. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
